Prescott Through a Local’s Eye: Brian and Codi Lyons

Brian and Codi Lyons | Prescott Days | City Living Network

City Living Network and Brian and Codi Lyons are proud to launch Prescott Days, showcasing the best Prescott has to offer, one small business at a time.

Brian and Codi Lyons, are the husband and wife team behind Prescott Days.

Codi is a native Prescottonian who moved to San Diego for college, and it was there, on Sunset Cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, that the two met, fell in love, got married, and started a family.

After having their third child in 2019, Brian, who had spent 20 years in the music industry as a Tour and Production Manager, decided that traveling the majority of the year was no longer in the cards and moved on from the music business to act on the dream he shared with Codi of moving their family to the Prescott countryside. It was here that Brian’s passion for aviation, technology, and photography all collided at Embry Riddle University in the form of a Commercial Drone Pilot License.

Together they started Spectrum Drone LLC in late 2021 and have found success doing all aspects of drone photography, videography and photogrammetry. Early in 2022 Codi had a vision to utilize her experience in marketing and sales, in conjunction with Brian’s photography and love for writing, to create an online magazine unlike any other that Prescott has seen.

Enter Prescott Days — showcasing the best Prescott has to offer, one small business at a time.

Brian and Codi currently reside in the Williamson Valley area of Prescott where they enjoy raising their three children, Ensley 7, Luke 4, and Kalia 3. The ability to give their children an upbringing immersed in the outdoor, country lifestyle is something they hold very dear to their hearts, as is making connections with all the inspiring people in town.

Here they list seven of their favorite places in Prescott…

Prescott Through a Locals Eye with Brian and Codi Lyons | Prescott Days

Restoration Church

After moving from San Diego in 2020, it was difficult to find a friend group and a church where we truly felt we belonged. We found Restoration Church after Codi had linked up with a friend from high school and we instantly knew we found our spiritual home in the church. Additionally, the people we met through the church have become some of our closest friends and we truly feel blessed to be a part of the community there. We both volunteer at Restoration at least 2 Sundays a month teaching in the sunday school.

Lazy G’s Restaurant

Our GO-TO spot. What we love about Lazy G’s is it really reminds us of all the places we used to go when we first met in San Diego. Amazing food, amazing in house beers. Outdoor dining with live music.  We look forward to popping in every Sunday after church.

BEND Hot Yoga Studios

BEND Hot Yoga is one of Brian’s favorite places, and not surprisingly, it is full of amazing humans. The instructors are top notch, helping beginners as they start their journey, as well as challenging Yogi vets with advanced movements.

Watson Lake Park

For a day at the park with the family it doesn't get much better. Vast open grassy spaces, kayaking, exploring along the lake edge, fishing, and a top notch playground – everyone is happy.

Farm Provisions Restaurant

Farm Provisions is perfect for date night! Farm-to-table is done right here with all the food locally sourced and prepared beautifully. HOT TIP: Definitely call ahead for a reservation because it’s always busy!

Thumb Butte Loop

Since moving to Prescott we have really enjoyed getting out into the wilderness and off-roading. Thumb Butte Loop is an easy to get to trail that offers stunning views. Always looking for an opportunity to capture content with our drones, we love exploring all the great lookout spots with the kids and mountain bikes. If we are feeling adventurous we park at the end of the loop and hike Thumb Butte itself. Definitely one of Prescott’s most iconic features!

Frozen Frannies

One of our favorite things to do on a hot day is take the kids to play in the shady grass of the historic Prescott Courthouse. After an hour or two of hide-and-seek and getting the wiggles out it’s off to the iconic Frozen Frannies for some top notch ice cream or frozen yogurt.
