The Power of Having a Network Behind You

From confidence-boosts to sales pacts to wine partners…

Even though each City Living Network Editor has their own publication and is doing their own thing in their own city, we are all a family just one-or-two steps ahead of each other — sharing triumphs and swapping wisdom.

Just yesterday, MELISSA from Newport Beach Days, called me as she was on her way to her first Chamber meeting. She was a bundle of nerves, but with a quick pep talk about the essence of NBD and the valuable service it provides to the community, she walked in to Fleming’s with confidence. Two hours later she had introduced herself to over 60 local businesses, her joy spreading through the phone as I answered the call, equally excited for an update.

On Tuesday, MINDY from Salt Lake Days emailed to let me know her margaritas article is currently ranking #1 for best Margaritas in SLC due to the SEO strategy we implemented that’s obviously been shaking things up.

City Living Network | Editor-in-Chief of Prescott Days | Codi Lyons

CODI from Prescott Days and I made a pact: we're both reaching out to 5 new businesses every day this week. It's a media kit marathon, and we're both in it to win it.

City Living Network | Emily Donohue Editor-in-Chief of Lexington Living Magazine | Emily Donohue

EMILY from Lexington Living Magazine is cooking up something spicy, designing a tailor-made package for a local Mexican restaurant. She reached out for some pricing advice, and together we're making a red-hot strategy.

And let's pop the cork for ANGELA from Las Vegas Parents Club! Her one-year-anniversary party is at the end of February, and I introduced her to Laguna Beach Living’s wine partners to make sure all her attendees don’t go thirsty. [VERY IMPORTANT.]

This weekend, I'm pumped to lace up my hiking boots for Laguna Beach Living’s monthly Hike Club that I’m co-hosting with both KRISTIN from Dana Point Days and DEANNA from Huntington Beach Days. Collabing with fellow OC cities has been a great way for us to share our followers, discover new hikes, and make new friends.

Speaking of Deanna, next week she'll be embodying the rock 'n roll soul of Huntington Beach by partnering with a local vintage store and photography studio for an invite-only bash. She hit me up for some quick advice, and it promises to be a legendary event for HB.

Why am I sharing all this?

Because the City Living Network is more than just a collection of sites — it's a thriving community of Editors, each with our own unique flair, yet united in our mission. We're a nationwide crew, always just a phone call or text away, ready to lend a hand, an ear, or a bit of advice.

Running a hyper-local publication solo can be a Herculean task, but within our network, we're a collective force, each of us only a few steps ahead in our own way, guiding and being guided.

We celebrate each victory, tackle each challenge, and turn our individual successes into collective wisdom… if one of us wins, we all win.

If one of us learns, we all learn.

From the founders of Laguna Beach Living, the City Living Network is an ALL-IN-ONE web design agency that builds hyperlocal digital publications from the ground up, leaving you with the knowledge on how to launch, maintain, and monetize a successful city blog... in just 30 days.
