Getting Press Trips Through Your Blog

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “How do you get invited on press trips?”

And I get it — who wouldn’t want to score stays at luxury resorts and explore new destinations, all while building their blog? As someone who runs a blog in California and spent a big part of my summer on press trips in Hawaii, I can tell you, it’s 100% possible!

That’s why, when I created the City Living Network course, I knew I wanted to include the exact steps for landing press trips as part of it.

Press trips are more than just free travel — they’re an incredible way to build relationships with brands, elevate your blog, and share unforgettable experiences with your readers. And trust me, it’s not as unattainable as you might think!

For example, today I published an article on Laguna Beach Living about last month’s stay at the Fairmont Orchid on Hawaii’s Big Island. My boyfriend and I swam with sea turtles, enjoyed a double balcony suite with jaw-dropping ocean views, and were even greeted with a coconut full of Hawaiian candies as a welcome gift! And guess what? This was all part of a press trip — zero dollars out of pocket!

But it's not just me — members of the City Living Network are landing these kinds of opportunities, too! Check out what they’ve been up to:

  • Emily from Lexington got whisked around Knoxville on a private tour, explored nearby Louisville, and was treated like royalty during a staycation at the Kentucky Castle.

  • Codi from Prescott took her family of five on a Grand Canyon Glamping adventure and followed it up with a scenic ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad.

  • Melissa from Newport made an overnight pit stop at a beachfront hotel in Carlsbad on the way to dropping her daughter off at college in San Diego.

  • Mindy from Salt Lake City enjoyed a staycation at one of SLC’s most historic (and magical!) hotels.

  • Kama from Maui got wined and dined at a 5-star resort in Wailea indulging in everything from private cabanas to Wagyu steak.

Through City Living Network’s course, I teach you exactly how to pitch yourself, connect with hotels, and land these dream press trips. Whether it's staycations in your hometown or jet-setting to exotic locations, you'll learn how to position your blog so that brands and destinations want to work with you.

While I can’t give away all the secrets here (those are saved for the course — exact email templates and Media Kits included!), I’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to make these opportunities happen. From building your blog’s credibility to making the right connections, you’ll have the tools and strategies to turn your city blog into a press trip magnet.

If you’re ready to take your blog and travel game to the next level, now’s the time.
